Insert Spare

This dialog allows you to reserve Balloon Numbers (Spares) for future use. These items act as a placeholder on your bill of material reports.

Accessed from:

BOM Manager > Right-Click Menu > Insert Spare

Note: Insert Spare is only available when BOM Manager Group By is set to Balloon and a row in the data grid is selected.

Balloon numbers have a direct association to part numbers. Therefore, the software automatically creates unique part numbers when spares are added using below format.

Spare Part Number format: _SP#_

Default Bill of Material Description: SPARE

Note: Part Number field within bill of material reports can be configured to show or hide autogenerated part numbers within the report. Report Template BOM_Substation_Qty_WOBOM.rpt is configured to hide autogenerated part numbers.

Setting	Description
Number of Spares	Enter desired number of spares. Note: If the number of spares results in a overlap conflict, the message below is displayed.
OK	Creates Spare records starting with the previous rows Balloon Number and increments by 1 for the value in Number of Spares.
Cancel	Closes dialog without creating spares.
